Job Description
Our Midstream Oil and Gas client is looking for a Senior Communications Technician to provide preventative maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of Field Communication (Radio Frequency) Systems in Estevan, Saskatchewan.
Must Haves:
- 5+ years as a Communication Technician within Field Operations
- Experience in RF transmission such as; RSL, SNR, Eb/No, EQ Stress, TX PWR
- Experience with troubleshooting Communication and Network/PC issues including; Ethernet Bridges, Serial Line Extenders, Switches, Fiber Optic Cables, Routers, and Hubs
- Experience with preventative maintenance, repair and provide back-up support for Microwave Radio System, and Radio Frequency
- Experience engaging with variety of non-technical operators, conveying technical updates in understandable formats
- Strong Electrical understanding, possibly as an Electrician
- Control Systems exposure to SCADA/PLC
- Provide back-up to controls group and take emergency calls in critical areas
- Assist Engineering department with new equipment design and commissioning
- Advise on solutions and future expansion needs to accommodate growth of system
