Salary: $26.19 - $35.32 hour (determined based on education and experience)

Position Overview

Researches, designs and develops corporate forms, coding for digital forms,, internal and external publications, promotional material and original artwork.

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Researches, designs, and develops corporate forms, internal and external publications, promotional material and original artwork. Receives design and production requests and consults with client to determine project requirements and to explain corporate restrictions and standards.

2. Evaluates graphics, lettering style, format, illustrations, and production stock to determine appropriate techniques to meet project requirements.

3. Creates or revises layouts to obtain desired visual effect and project requirements. Utilizes graphic reproduction software to produce print ready layouts for client approval.

4. Consults with client to obtain layout approval, implements any requested changes acceptable within corporate guidelines in a timely manner.

5. Summarizes product specifications to obtain production quotations from outside agencies. Evaluates and recommends most qualified suppliers. Initiates Requisition to Purchase and obtains authorization based on the recommendation.

6. Consults with supplier. Analyzes and evaluates submitted work to ensure adherence to corporate standards. Advises supplier of any deviations or substandard work and recommends required corrections.

7. Maintains database tracking and controlling all assigned projects and related Requisitions. Produces monthly and on-request summarizing reports.

8. Manages the CorpForms database by redirecting links, adding/deleting forms, and making any time sensitive changes in the forms.

9. Provides training and leads/directs Graphics, Print shop and Corporate Services personnel in the use of microcomputer software and hardware.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Diploma in Graphic Communications OR Grade 12 with two years of experience in graphic design

2. Thorough knowledge of procurement procedures and corporate standards including use of corporate logo.

3. Working knowledge of personal computers and various software applications

4. Working Knowledge of Java Scripting and logic

5. Good analytical and problem-solving skills

6. Ability to plan and organize in a self-directed environment.

7. Good communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with internal and/or external customers.

8. Keyboarding skills 20 wpm.
