We\'re on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.About the roleReporting to the Managing Director, Complex Product & Technical Sales Leader, the Senior Business Solutions Sales Specialist, Trade Finance will be the internal champion for Trade Finance & Transactional Banking for both our Business Banking and Capital Markets businesses. You will advocate for Trade Finance & Transactional Banking by building strong relationships with the sales teams within ATB Financial to educate and train them on product offerings in order to better serve our clients. You will be known to all our customer facing team members and external partners and require you to be a trail blazer to actively seek out opportunities for growth and create effective sales strategies in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders. This position is key to the success and growth of Trade Finance & Transactional Banking at ATB Financial.Accountabilities

  • Build and foster impactful relationships with key stakeholders across ATB in order to identify opportunities for customers to engage in Trade Finance & Transactional Banking and create sales strategies for each team
  • Act as the in-house trade finance and letter of credit expert providing advice and structuring of complex trade deals in support of front line sales teams
  • Work with internal partners to help facilitate ATB\xe2\x80\x99s correspondent banking relationships and global Financial Institutions (\xe2\x80\x9cFIs\xe2\x80\x9d), operationalize relationships with FIs in emerging markets, work closely with domestic and foreign export development agencies, and implement international trade programs
  • Work with internal partners to develop marketing and communications strategies to elevate ATB\xe2\x80\x99s trade products within defined strategic markets to grow ATB\xe2\x80\x99s foreign trade portfolio
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of Trade Finance products, pricing and how they relate to ATB\xe2\x80\x99s other ancillary, products revenue and goals
  • Work with internal partners to educate internal team members and external stakeholders on ATB\xe2\x80\x99s trade finance solutions and products
  • Provide advice directly to ATB Clients and engage external parties to engage clients where we cannot
Skills, experience & requirementsDistinctive Skills:

Accreditation:
  • Prior experience in international trade and letters of credit with the ability to demonstrate innovative and forward thinking
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business, such as Finance, International Trade or other related field
  • 10-15+ years of experience structuring transactions for clients in domestic and/or international markets
  • Working knowledge of Letters of Credit, CDSC or other LC training is an asset
  • Experience working within the ecosystem of programs designed to support Canadian businesses who are importing and exporting
  • Trade Finance certifications an asset
