This Business Operations team sits at the center of the One Shopify team. The One Shopify team builds and nurtures Shopify's strategic partnerships with companies like , , , Apple, USPS, Canada Post, etc., taking a holistic, cross-Shopify point of view.

As a Senior Business Operations Lead working with the One Shopify Product Partnerships team, you play a critical role in defining, measuring, and driving strategic and operational improvements across these partnerships. You will fully immerse yourself in structured problem solving, working closely with commercial and product leaders on business critical problems to influence One Shopify's strategic and planning process, business performance & strategic insights, and partner operations. You will do so by driving investment planning, operating rhythms, and high priority cross-functional initiatives. Moreover, you will be a formal mentor for the Business Operations team by adding structure to ambiguous problems, and enabling effective decision making by surfacing the relevant performance / insights. You'll also oversee One Shopify partner operations, ensuring we have clear pre-and post-deal analyses to make sound decisions with our partners and that our operational processes are working smoothly. You'll work closely to influence other cross-functional leaders, including Product, Finance, Data Science, Marketing, Commercial and other Operations teams.

What will you do?

Use the first month to immerse yourself in Shopify's culture through our comprehensive onboarding process while learning all about the One Shopify partnerships, our roadmap, and how we conduct strategic planning / execution, measure performance, and operationally support One Shopify partners

Drive strategic planning activities to identify and articulate an ambitious strategy and business priorities and align on performance metrics / KPIs / OKRs

Build consensus and influence decision making among cross-functional executives and senior leaders (including Product, Commercial, Finance, Data, Marketing)

Manage executive messaging and alignment (e.g, monthly / quarterly business reviews)

Take part in hiring and developing team members to "raise the bar" on the team; this includes team coaching and development

Oversee and execute on the creation of dashboards/ scorecards, with interesting and compelling insights and stories that drive performance improvements

Building operational processes for constant cross-functional alignment, with visibility into progress and risks, early feedback and rapid decision-making

Define, systematize, and optimize shared practices across Partnerships, while understanding when and how to customize for a specific context or let teams diverge

Qualifications

7+ years of business operations or top-tier corporate strategy / M&A consulting experience (or experience in other relevant fast-paced environment)

Strong communication, problem solving / analytical, project management and organization skills

Exceptional stakeholder management skills and ability to influence senior, cross-functional stakeholders

Experience leading complex operational and strategic initiatives

Strong data-based story-telling and decision-making, exercising good judgement in ambiguous circumstances (while being scrappy and pragmatic), and effectively communicating across a diverse team.

Entrepreneurship mentality. Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, able to work independently and possess strong organization and time management skills to drive insights without all the information/data readily available

Passion for technology, and tech/e-commerce company experience

Demonstrated experience in analytics and modeling, including advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint (or equivalent), and basic/moderate knowledge of SQL (or aptitude to learn quickly)
