InSync Systems is looking for a Senior Business Analyst for a 12-month contract position with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

This is a remote position working primarily in the Mountain time zone.

Role Summary
The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for providing strategic business analysis services to business partners. The focus of this position is to work closely with the project teams & business units to gain in-depth understanding of business processes, services, roadmap, and the context in which the business operates. This role is key in understanding the capabilities needed to address business operations and challenges.

The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks & identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size sub-projects to assisting project managers on larger more complex project segments.

Responsibilities
  • Translate conceptual user functional and technical requirements into functional specifications / design documents / test artifacts and communicate to project team members including developers, configuration specialist, QA analysts & technical / architecture teams.
  • Analyze and verify specifications for completeness, accuracy, and conformity to project standards.
  • Manage and track the status of specifications throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
  • Maintains a solid knowledge base of the functional capabilities of and is a Subject Matter Expert in assigned business domains / functional areas.
  • Possesses overall understanding of appropriate business processes and workflows.
  • Identify and respond proactively to both business and project issues and escalate appropriately.
  • Participate in reviews of plans associated with project execution, and.
  • Conduct client training sessions, as required.

Knowledge skills and abilities
  • Strong writing ability to develop complex documents for senior management and operational staff.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, gather requirements and document specifications, conduct analysis, and prepare materials for discussion including wireframes, BPMN diagrams, reporting templates and summary documents.
  • Experience working with change management processes, various project management methodologies, and all aspects of the application design and development lifecycle.
  • Proven record of achievement in a variety of project driven environments.
  • Strong organizational, communication and planning skills.
  • Able to work with clients at all organizational levels to define business processes and provide advice on systems.
  • Certification or equivalent education and training in business analysis.
  • Capability of full remote work using MS Teams / SharePoint / Office365 / VPN environments.

Education and Experience
  • University Degree or diploma with major coursework in systems analysis, information systems, computer science or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years IT industry experience.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years working experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Minimum of 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in gathering and documenting detailed business requirements, functional specifications and illustrating workflows / processes in Visio, Balsamiq or similar toolsets.
  • Experience successfully implementing and supporting enterprise applications.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience on projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with large, complex business systems with stakeholder groups.
  • Experience working on projects involving business redesign and fit gap analysis that integrate diverse business applications.
  • Experience with provincial governments or health care insurance preferred.
  • Experience with large software implementations preferred.

Knowledge and experience in these areas is required -
  • Healthcare business / financial processes in Canada.
  • Claims processing and adjudication.
  • Payment eligibility and claim settlement.
  • Payment processing and financial reporting.
