Position Title: Senior Business Analyst JD Edwards

Team and Location: Finance - Calgary, Alberta

Position Summary:

The Sr Business Analyst, Process Integration provides analytical and operational support to various corporate finance departments including but not limited to Financial Reporting, Financial Planning and Analysis and Fixed Assets through design, implementation and maintenance of Corporate Finance processes and procedures with ERP system (JD Edwards) and additional financial reporting applications and tools such as the corporate financial consolidation software (OneStream).

Tasks will include:

  • Assessment of workflows to identify the opportunities for continuous improvements.
  • Identification of problem areas and scoping development.
  • Documentation of processes.
  • Recommending solutions for implementation in coordination with the IT Department.
The successful candidate will also act as a liaison between the business and IT to enable the organization to achieve its goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with the corporate finance teams to understand and to define business/technical processes and requirements and to look for process improvement opportunities
  • Evaluate the current workflows and processes to recommend improvements
  • Understand Parkland consolidation and reporting process and provide support to Financial Reporting team with process improvement.
  • Working with IT and the corporate teams to support enhancement requests and troubleshooting including interface to JDE.
  • Support OneStream and business intelligence tools.
  • Work closely with various departments and Business Units (corporate accounting, shared service, technical accounting, legal, real estate, corporate tax, commodity tax, internal audit, etc.) on matters and issues, and provide subject matter expertise to the organization.
  • Provide technical support to users across all the divisions during day-to-day business activities using JDE systems.
  • Lead the projects of improvements and implementation for acquisitions and new set ups.
  • Support incident management, provide assistance with diagnosis and resolution of escalated production issues.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Accounting degree at least Bachelors is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of JDE Finance modules and JDE integrations with other systems is required especially following modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets.
  • Knowledge of consolidation systems (OneStream, Hyperion) is an asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of Business processes.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and excellent analytical skills and takes initiatives to solve problems.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level with Excel and MS Visio.
  • Above average communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge in areas of Fuel and Non-Fuel Transaction Processing and Reporting.
  • Experience in retail, commercial or supply chain operations considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of other systems (i.e. PDI, Concur) or other JDE modules (Sales, Procurement, Inventory) is an asset.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
