POSITION OVERVIEW

If you are passionate about using data and analytics to drive strategic decision-making to help Canadian entrepreneurs, then this role is for you!

Reporting into the Business Intelligence team as a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key leadership role in improving and leveraging a set of methodologies, processes, architectures, and technologies to transform raw data into meaningful information to enable effective insights and decision-making.

Key to success in this role is being able to understand, articulate and challenge business requirements and translate those into specifications supporting the delivery or enhancement of analytics products in an Agile mode.

The candidate will join the Data Modernization program whose objective is to deliver BDC's next generation cloud-based Enterprise Data Platform in the coming years.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Lead sessions with business functions to identify and document analytics use cases with clear business benefits and goal of analysis.

Identify and classify data supporting analytics use cases and perform data profiling to assess its quality.

Support analytics Product Manager and Owner in prioritizing features based on value realization.

Support the documentation of an Enterprise Conceptual Model for the new Enterprise Data Platform.

Support Architecture team to ensure analytics products are fit for purpose based on objectives and benefits agreed with business functions.

Contribute as part of an Agile squad to the planification and execution of sprints for the delivery of analytics products.

Document functional specifications to support the delivery of analytics products.

Contribute to the promotion of Data Visualization best practices within business functions.

Provide through leadership, subject matter expertise to the Business Intelligence team in terms of business analysis best practices.

Interact with end-users to evaluate performance of analytics products and identify areas of improvement.

Learn and understand the data landscape, business processes and productionalized Analytics use cases.

Identify with business stakeholders opportunities to improve business processes and strategies through analytics poducts.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

10+ years experience in business analysis mainly in Business Intelligence and Analytics fields.

Good working knowledge of SQL language.

Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.

Excellent planning, organizational, teamwork, documention and time management skills.

Interpersonal skills, foster collaboration and build cross functional relationships.

Results driven, highly focuses on ownership and accountability.

5+ years of experience working in or with lean and agile software delivery teams.

Bilinguism (French and English) written and spoken.

Experience with Databricks and Lakehouse architecture.

Financial services or banking industry experience is an asset.
