The successful candidate will be assigned to initiatives that support our Upstream portfolio which includes but is not limited to Oilsands, Conventional, Asia Pacific and Atlantic Canada assets. This role will report to the Manager Upstream Applications, collaborating closely with business and functional areas, and overseeing project planning, management, coordination, and execution.This opportunity will appeal to an individual who demonstrates effective critical thinking, problem-solving and facilitation skills, is adaptable and able to effectively complete work in a timely fashion. They will use best practices to support the activity execution, and have an understanding of transition to operations and development of processes and procedures.The ideal candidate will have experience with eliciting business requirements, facilitating workshops, developing process descriptions and procedural documentation, building workflows, documenting standards and policies. It is also important for the candidate to have experience and strength in managing complex business scenarios and dynamic groups and ensuring effective synchronizations between competing Upstream initiatives.This is a full-time employee position located in our corporate office in Calgary, Alberta.What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: functional requirements (business requirements document), use cases, total cost of ownership, workflow diagrams, and context diagrams.Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.Critically evaluate information gathered from various sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.Successfully engage, drive and facilitate multiple initiatives and work simultaneously.Lead and participate in process creation, reviews, updates, and documentation with our partners.Understand business opportunities for improvement, risk management and cost savings.Handle and complete required stakeholder engagement to support project plans and scope.Lead and participate in Transition to Operations scope and activities for services and/or products built by the project team.Be the liaison between the project teams, technology teams and support teams.Work closely with People Readiness team (OCM, Communications, Learning) to help identify/validate change impacts, provide a technical review of communications and provide input to the training curriculum.Collaborate with architecture and other Data and IT roles to ensure technology solutions are cost effective and aligned with standards.Who you are:Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Minimum of 8 years experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.Strong business insight and a strategic understanding of business process with the ability to work with different levels of the organization.Highly effective communicator (verbal/written) who can see the big picture yet focus on the details.Critical thinker who is identifies issues and uses problem solving and analytical skills to develop solutions.Rapidly and independently acquires skills and information, is open minded and pragmatic, adaptable and change ready.Able to analyze a business domain, build and maintain strong working relationships, engage professionally with leaders and peers, consult and challenge assumptions and ideas.Self-starter that can independently identify and handle tasks, time and competing priorities.Collaborates well in a team environment, manages conflict, supports team success, contributes to a positive team dynamic.Able to identify, analyze, mitigate and monitor risks and issues.Direct working experience or project experience in Upstream business area is an asset.Oil &Gas industry experience is an asset.Displays emotional intelligence; demonstrates self-awareness and remains calm under pressure.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT July 30, 2024.If you require accessibility assistance to complete the on-line application or otherwise apply for an open position with Cenovus, its subsidiaries and affiliates, please email .Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to determining next steps.Who we are:We\xe2\x80\x99re an integrated energy company headquartered in Calgary with oil and natural gas production operations in Canada and the Asia Pacific region, and upgrading, refining and marketing operations in Canada and the United States.
