JOB TITLE:

Senior Bookkeeper



LOCATION: City Centre Park located at 1089 Langford parkway, Victoria BC.

DEPARTMENT: Facility Administration

REPORTS TO: Financial Controller

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE



Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for full-scale bookkeeping in addition to a variety of administrative tasks. The Employee is expected to be a team player, provide positive leadership, and liaise with facility staff.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Perform daily account reconciliations for the bowling alley and restaurant.

Prepare server gratuities

Payroll processing (biweekly)

Accounts Payable

Preparing bank deposits

Perform account reconciliations

Balance and monitor petty cash and floats.

Provide excellent professional customer service.

Communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers, customers, community groups, other departments and outside organizations and agencies

Comply with City Centre Park safety procedures.

Assist with other duties as assigned by Manager

REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES



Criminal Record Check

Bookkeeping experience minimum 5 years.

College diploma/courses in Accounting, Business, or related field experience an asset.

Proficient in Excel, Word, and accounting programs (Simply Accounting preferred).

Experience preparing payroll.

Demonstrate the ability for accuracy and thoroughness.

Strong written and oral communication.

Apply analytical solution focus problem solving skills.

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Willingness to learn, grow professionally, adapt to changes and needs of the facility.

WORKING CONDITIONS



Work is performed in an office environment primarily with some work at other recreation facilities throughout City Centre Park. Employee will be subject to working in other facilities and outdoors as the position requires and may have to manage a number of people and projects at one time. The employee may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of clients.

HOURS OF WORK



This is a full-time position. You will work an average of forty (40) hours per week on-site. There may be circumstances where you will be required to work in excess of the hours or business days per week noted above, in which case you agree to notify Langford Lanes, in advance. You will not be paid overtime, except as expressly agreed by City Centre Park, in writing.
