What can you expect in this role?



Be at the center of strategic growth:

Support a highly acquisitive Corporate Development team and collaborate with cross-functional groups including Finance, Investor Relations, Capital Management, and Reinsurance.

Drive real impact:

Help drive Definity' s inorganic growth strategy across a wide array of industries--carriers, brokers, and new vertical markets.

Deal lifecycle:

Assist in the execution of new investment opportunities and divestiture transactions, including but not limited to deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modelling and analysis, investment presentations, and integration support --you'll be hands-on throughout.

Industry research:

Monitor market activity and maintain benchmarking tools to inform executive decision-making.

Ad hoc requests:

Deliver insights through credit analysis, monthly KPI reporting, and ad hoc strategic requests from executive leadership as required

Being apart of a strong company in the Industry:

Definity has completed 9 acquisitions last year, and this year completed one of the largest P&C acquisitions in the industry's history

What do you bring to the role?



2-5 years of work experience (including co-op or internships), in finance, accounting, or related fields, preferably with experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, M&A transaction advisory, or management consulting. Completed university degree, preferably within finance, accounting, or engineering with top academic performance Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are required; experience with LBO or transaction modeling is a plus Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail, and on occasion manage multiple priorities under tight timelines CPA, or CFA Designation is an asset Demonstrated ability to analyze and investigate problems, identify issues, and propose solutions
High degree of proficiency with English is required to service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.


Salary Range: $69,000 - $127,000

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
