MacEwan University is seeking a Senior Analyst, AI Solutions for a full-time continuing opportunity with the Information Technology Services department.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Cloud Services & Architecture, the Senior Analyst, AI Solutions is critical in bridging the gap between technical teams and the university community. You will be responsible for engaging academic and administrative stakeholders to understand their needs, translating those needs into actionable AI initiatives, and supporting the ethical and effective adoption of AI tools across the institution. You will lead discovery and analysis efforts, facilitates change management, and promotes responsible AI use by coordinating training, developing user resources, and ensuring alignment with institutional priorities. By fostering cross-functional collaboration, the role ensures that AI solutions are user-centered, scalable, and aligned with both operational and academic goals. You will also serve as a key liaison to the Cloud Services & AI Platform team, providing feedback and insights to inform platform development and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Engaging with faculty, researchers, and administrative departments to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for AI initiatives;
Facilitating discovery sessions and workshops for AI use cases in teaching, research, and operations (e.g., predictive analytics, chatbots, natural language processing, image recognition);
Monitoring vendor product roadmaps (e.g., OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot) and assessing their relevance to institutional goals and AI strategy;
Collaborating with vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate tools, plan pilots, and manage change readiness;
Contributing to the AI platform roadmap by synthesizing feedback from pilots, stakeholder use cases, and vendor updates;
Developing and delivering or supporting the development and delivery of training sessions and ongoing support to end users to raise awareness and build capacity in AI literacy among faculty and staff and to ensure smooth transitions and successful adoption of new systems, processes, or technologies;
Translating complex technical concepts into plain language to support adoption and decision making;
Promoting the responsible, ethical, and equitable use of AI tools, with a strong emphasis on privacy, equity, and accessibility; and
Liaising with legal, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to ensure adherence to institutional policies, regulatory frameworks, and risk mitigation practices, escalating issues when necessary.

SKILLS
You will have:
Excellent interpersonal communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including faculty, administrators, and IT teams;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and translate stakeholder needs into actionable AI use cases or solution requirements;
Familiarity with business analysis techniques, including requirements elicitation, stakeholder mapping, use case development, and user journey documentation;
Knowledge of accessibility standards, inclusive design principles, and privacy/ethical considerations related to educational and enterprise technologies;
Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Azure OpenAI, or Microsoft Copilot, and platforms like Moodle or LMS systems, in a facilitation, training, or evaluation context;
Knowledge of business analysis and product management practices, including process mapping, roadmap planning, and basic data modeling;
The ability to document requirements and workflows using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Visio;
A demonstrated ability to support change management initiatives through training coordination, communications planning, and stakeholder engagement;
Comfort working in agile, cross-functional environments, contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives, and product feedback loops;
The ability to be self-directed and organized, effectively managing multiple priorities and relationships simultaneously; and
The ability to summarize product insights and present your findings to leadership to inform institutional decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Educational Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in business analysis, stakeholder engagement, technology adoption, change management, or related roles.
Experience working with business users to gather requirements and solve problems using technical solutions.
Familiarity with or experience in a post-secondary or other public sector environment is considered an asset.
Familiarity with AI tools, CRM systems, or LMS platforms is considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This position works 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional flexibility may be required to support workshops, events, or training sessions with internal partners.
