Work schedule to be discussed with Hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.Your roleCBC/Radio-Canada is looking for a Senior Manager in its Budgeting and Internal Reporting Finance team. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis and data analytics, with a strong aptitude to develop, and implement value add reporting processes and control improvements. This position requires an individual with a superior ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize competing business needs while delivering consistently high quality and timely work.Primary Location: Based in Ottawa.This is a contract position for 2-years.Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for the Corporation\xe2\x80\x99s consolidated forecasting & analysis, budgeting and internal reporting processes, including:

  • Developing and producing consolidated financial reports including consolidated budgetary planning, monitoring and forecasting, and presentations to Senior Executives and the Board of Directors.
  • Building financial models and analyses to support timely management of the Corporation\xe2\x80\x99s financial resources, and/or strategic initiatives.
  • Creating reports involving financial metrics to support the annual target setting process for KPIs including routine tracking and reporting of progress to internal & external stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining other key financial documents to support government relations, the President\xe2\x80\x99s office, regulatory reporting and other ad-hoc initiatives.
  • Coordinating the collection of financial information and vetting process for Finance response to the Access to Information requests.
  • Building and implementing an efficient process within the Budgeting and Internal Reporting Finance team to optimize use of archiving tools through a standard approach to organizing the information saved, thereby facilitating the access to it.
  • Recommending, developing and promoting effective reporting and analytical standards through continuous automation, process and control improvements.
  • Coaching, and supervising Senior Financial Analyst to achieve team plans and priorities as well as organizational goals and objectives.
  • All other tasks, assignments, duties or projects as required by the Director, Finance.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Professional accounting designation such as CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) or US CPA. At least five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in large financial management environments with broadcasting or related industry experience. Ability and skills to make recommendations and provide analytical insight and interpretation of complex financial data to senior management in a clear and concise manner. At least 2 years of experience managing people.
  • University degree in Business, preferably in Business Administration or Commerce, plus five years of related work experience and in-depth expertise in financial planning & analysis, consolidation reporting, and/or data analytics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience at dealing with clients/users at all level \xe2\x80\x93 individually and in groups.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills. High attention to detail is critical for this role.
  • Ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and think critically in the development of solutions.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at any one time while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Initiative to explore new techniques and new ideas to satisfy internal client requirements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, technical writing skills and change management skills.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is required.
  • Superior skills in Excel and proficiency in MS Office, and Adobe software are required, with extensive experience developing models.
  • High level of computer proficiency, and full working knowledge of Google Suite (Google Sheets).
  • Strong knowledge of SAP/BW, Cognos TM1, and different ERPs, or advanced experience in business planning platforms, are an asset.
