Job Description




The Senior Advisor plays a leading role in the development and implementation of multiple projects. The Senior Advisor plays an important role in the realization of the company\'s internal and external communications programs. In collaboration with the team and colleagues, the person provides strategic advice to Transat\xe2\x80\x99s executives and various departments on sometimes complex issues. Act as a strategic ally to the Senior Director, particularly in situations involving issues, media relations, public affairs and corporate strategies. This new role is also expected to contribute extensively to writing, mostly for the President and CEO and occasionally for other members of the Executive Committee. A talented writer and an appetite for strategic content development are expected by candidates. Responsibilities

  • Develop and ensure the implementation of a communication strategy based on the company\'s vision, objectives, issues and strategic plan;
  • Ensure the interests of the company\'s various stakeholders (employees, shareholders, customers, media, general public, etc.) are met through the implementation of appropriate strategies and messages;
  • Develop integrated strategic and tactical communication plans and ensure their implementation;
  • Ensure end-to-end project management (resources, schedule and budget) and event management, including communication focus, content production and logistics;
  • Evaluate communication needs, assist and advise the various departments and managers of the organization for their projects and activities;
  • Ability to design and write relevant and effective documents
  • Work closely with complementary teams within the company (human resources, marketing, etc.);
  • Contribute to the visibility of the members of the management team;
  • Write various documents related to the company, both strategic and tactical: messages, press releases, information and question and answer documents, articles, web texts, speeches, arguments and others;
  • Design, produce, update and distribute communication tools (PowerPoint presentations, photo and video production, Q&A, news release, etc.);
  • Guide and coach teams (suppliers and internal teams) in the implementation of integrated communication programs;
  • Evaluate the quality and impact of communication programs and tools and propose a plan to improve their performance;
  • Participate in the development and implementation of contingency plans;
  • Perform any other duties related to the position.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in communications or public relations or other related disciplines (media, journalism, marketing, arts and letters, international affairs, political science, etc.)
  • 8 to 12 years of relevant experience, including in a consulting role and exposure to C-Suite Executives
  • Strong understanding of communication strategies, their impact on business results (especially in times of change) and their influence on corporate culture
  • Bilingualism (French/English)
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to manage projects, work on multiple files at once and meet deadlines
  • Good knowledge of current communication methods
  • Analytical and innovative mindset
  • Versatility, agility, creativity, attention to detail, rigour, autonomy, organizational skills
  • Ability to interact at all levels and to develop harmonious relationships
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Word and PowerPoint, Excel, Photoshop an asset
  • Advanced design and layout skill an asset
  • May be required to work exceptionally outside of working hours to assist event planning or during quarterly results periods.
  • Fully flexible work mode (teleworking, hybrid or in-person either at the Transat Tower on Parc or at the operations offices in Ville-St-Laurent/Dorval next to YUL).
