Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto\xe2\x80\x99s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Our Capital Projects Group, Third Party and Agreements team is seeking a Senior Advisor, Agreements to support Subway Programs. As a member of the Agreements Team, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of subject matter experts to coordinate and negotiate third party agreements; build and manage positive relationships with external stakeholders; and monitor projects for key risks and issues that require resolution through an agreement.

What will I be doing?
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams, who are managing the design and construction of various Subway projects, to identify and communicate third party agreements needs and requirements.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal teams and external stakeholders to draft and negotiate third party agreements, ensure that agreements are executed in a timely manner to minimize project risk, and ensure program-wide consistency in the approach to these agreements.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders critical to the successful delivery of program-wide third-party agreement requirements.
  • Enable the discussion and resolution of key technical and stakeholder issues and facilitate communication and collaboration between Metrolinx and third-party stakeholders to mitigate risks.
  • Implement standards and procedures for identifying, preparing, tracking and reporting on required third party agreements across all Metrolinx projects.
  • Track key performance indicators relating to third party agreements.
  • Support risk mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with Metrolinx policies and procedures, design and schedule requirements, and to manage Metrolinx liabilities throughout the lifecycle of projects.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of a degree in Public Policy, Economics, Planning, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Law or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Minimum six (6) years\xe2\x80\x99 related experience in a related industry (transit/transportation, government agencies, urban planning, infrastructure planning policy development, and consulting or project management) with experience in third party agreements and knowledge of / interaction with public sector agencies.
  • Knowledge of public sector decision-making structures and processes at the municipal, regional, provincial, or federal level.
  • Experience with Project Management methods, tools and best practices. Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Skilled in risk mitigation and issues management to identify complex and contentious issues and make recommendations. Negotiation, tact, diplomacy, and political acuity to develop and recommend project plans and manage multi-stakeholder projects/initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, collaboration and oral/ written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of project management software, Excel, and computer applications is essential.
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Working Conditions:
Position may require travel to Metrolinx 100 Consilium Place, Scarborough location for meetings.
