Aplin has partnered with a Winnipeg-Manitoba-based company to hire a Senior Accountant.The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting of operations. This position involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports and involvement in a new ERP implementation.Benefits & Perks:

Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis:
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements, identifying trends, variances and areas for improvement.
  • Assist with the development of financial reporting using Business Analytics tools.
  • Prepare and present financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.
  • Participate in the management and reporting of fixed assets.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Completion of preliminary and year-end audit working papers.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, which requires regular analysis of variances and the ability to forecast future requirements.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of the annual inventory count.
  • Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary information and support decision-making.
Software Proficiency:
  • Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to perform daily tasks efficiently.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements in accounting and financial software.
  • Constantly strive to improve the accuracy of information flow through education, careful attention to detail and improvements to information processing.
  • Perform daily general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business/Finance, professional accounting designation (CPA) or in pursuit of, would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3-5 of related years experience.
  • Advanced MS Office applications with proficiency in ERP systems environment.
  • Experience with Epicor would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience with an ERP implementation.
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills - dedicated to exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Strong written and verbal skills - the ability to write and speak succinctly with customers and colleagues.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures and provide guidance.
  • Heavy duty parts knowledge or background an asset.
  • Must be willing to work 100% on-site.
