Senior Accountant

to take ownership of our financial systems and help drive our next phase of growth.

Position Summary:

As Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the President and be responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day financial operations, bookkeeping, reporting, compliance, and analysis. You will play a critical role in decision-making support--especially as it pertains to further growth, franchisee reporting, budgeting, and cost control for our multi-unit operation.

Compensation & Benefits:

Base Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience Annual Performance Bonus: Up to 10% of salary Health & Dental Benefits: After 90 days 100% employer-paid (including paramedical and vision) Vacation: 3 weeks vacation, plus paid sick/personal days CPA Support: Annual dues covered; training allowance of $1,500-$2,000 Perks: Free meals during shift (if you love pizza!), potential for hybrid flexibility (1 day/week remote if feasible), franchise-level impact

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and journal entries Collaborate with and support bookkeeper Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis Monitor and analyze food, packaging, and labour costs against benchmarks Provide financial insights to support growth, franchisee performance, and cost reduction strategies Collaborate with executive team on strategic planning, expansion, and performance tracking Liaise with external accountants, advisors, and banking partners

Qualifications:

CPA designation (or in progress) preferred Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting, ideally in multi-unit food service, or franchise operations Strong Excel and accounting software skills (Sage50 or similar); experience with POS is an asset Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills Self-starter with the ability to work independently Passion for process improvement, cost tracking, and financial accountability
