Senior Accountant Or Bookkeeper

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, senior bookkeeper or accountant to join our accounting division.

Our Head Office supports multiple branches, and handles all AP, AR and Payroll functions of the company.

Our accounting software is Sage 300 (formerly AccPac), and the successful candidate must be highly functional within the software. Sage 300 (formerly ACCPAC) is technical accounting software that is not suitable for learning on the job. It is not similar to Quickbooks/Sage 50/Yardi or other web based software.

We are looking for a Team Lead who can work with administrators within the AP, AR and Payroll Divisions to ensure all invoices, expenses and payments (methods including EFT/e-transfer/cheque/wire/credit card) are properly recorded. Daily bank reconcilitiations will need to be completed, and balance sheets compiled at the end of each month.

You will also work closely with corporate management and external accountants to make sure the accounting records are properly maintained and regulatory reports such as WCB reporting, GST, PST, Employer's Health Tax are properly generated and reported.

You may intermittently be asked to support the different divisions to ensure that their work is caught up or provide support during vacation absences.

The volume of our work requires the successful candidate to be fast-paced, yet concise and able to work indepedently as well as collaboratively with others. Strong communication skills are required as you will be interacting with multiple team members throughout the day.

This is a full-time, permanent position and salary is commensurate with experience.

After three months of full-time employment, you may join our extended benefits plan, although enrolment is not mandatory.

Responsibilities



Manage daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, using Sage 300 (formerly ACCPAC). Perform account and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records. Assist in financial auditing and prepare reports for management review. Support payroll processing and budgeting activities, ensuring compliance with corporate finance regulations. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or Bookkeeping Proficiency in Sage 300/ACCPAC Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes Experience with financial auditing and account reconciliation Knowledge of corporate finance, including GST, PST and WCB filings Familiarity with payroll processing and financial services
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
