Position Summary
In a context of continuous organic growth and acquisitions, the incumbent, based at the Laval, Quebec headquarters, will be responsible for managing the accounting activities of direct sales offices, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, managing the budgeting and forecasting process for these business units, and ensuring compliance with corporate accounting and internal control policies. This role is on-site with a possibility of working remotely 1 day a week once the integration period is completed.
Key responsibilities
Maintain accounting records, including accounting entry, classification, and reconciliation of transactions.
Monitor customer, supplier, and bank accounts. Support the person responsible for collection on a need basis.
Reconcile payroll entries with the general ledger. Ensure appropriate cut-off and accruals for related payroll accounts.
Prepare complete and accurate monthly financial statements in accordance with IFRS and submit them along with other financial information in the OneStream consolidation system according to the corporate schedule.
Participate in the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts in collaboration with the general manager.
Monitor performance against the budget and analyze variances.
Provide tax information for the preparation of tax provision and annual income tax return.
Optimize and improve the accounting process surrounding revenue recognition, inventory management, and deferred revenue accounting.
Ensure that all business processes are documented and recorded in a procedure manual.
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of accounting systems and financial tools in view of establishing a shared service center.
Qualifications
Hold a Bachelor of Business Administration (BAA) in accounting or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Strong attention to detail, proficiency in Excel and comfort with systems, organizational skills, precision, autonomy, proactivity, and teamwork.
Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English and French.
