We are seeking a

Senior Accountant

to join our Edmonton-based finance team. This role plays a critical part in overseeing full-cycle accounting and finance functions across multiple legal entities in Canada, the U.S., and Chile. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional departments to support strategic business decisions.


Key Accountabilities




Analyze and prepare full cycle accounting journal entries. Act as month end processing back-up for other Maxima teams when necessary. Complete reconciliations (including subledger detail) for balance sheet accounts and resolve or discuss reconciling items with management. Assist with investigating income statement and balance sheet variances when necessary. Maintain intercompany transactions as required and complete intercompany reconciliations. Assist with preparing and providing audit back-up as needed. Ensure schedules for fixed assets/leases and depreciation are properly maintained in the ERP system along with corresponding tracking documents. Work cross functionally with other departments to ensure transactions contain proper segmentation and internal processes are accurately followed. Responsible to carry-out the review and submission of sales tax in North America. Complete a range of special projects as required.



+ CPA designation or equivalent professional accounting certification (required) + Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience
+ Experience with project-based accounting is an asset
+ Proficient in financial reporting, reconciliations, and ERP systems (NetSuite is an asset)
+ Familiarity with Power BI and/or strong data analysis skills a plus
+ Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
+ Ability to travel occasionally (<5%) domestically and internationally
+ Positive, proactive, and collaborative approach with a continuous improvement mindset
