Position: Senior Accountant, Assurance (Audit)
Locations: Markham
Salary: 80K to $85K
Job Summary:
Career Market is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant for a leading public accounting firm. This role is critical for managing complex audit and review engagements for owner managed clients and ensuring compliance with ASPE.
Key Responsibilities:

• Independently plan, execute, and lead audit and review engagements.
• Analyze financial statements, manage risk assessments, and prepare corporate tax returns.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Maintain and develop client relationships, understanding their unique business goals.
• Prepare detailed reports and memos with appropriate accounting conclusions.
• Manage multiple projects, monitoring deadlines and budgets.

• Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting or a related field.
• CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA program.
• At least 4 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on assurance and audit.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting and Auditing Standards.
• Proficient in MS Office, CaseWare, and other accounting software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
