As a Senior Accountant, you will be required to apply KPMG's audit and accounting practices and methodologies working with public and private clients.
Our Vancouver office is seeking Senior Accountants for our Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) industry group.
What you will do:
Conduct external audits and lead audit teams
Assist with developing the audit plan and execute the audit of financial statements and related notes
Identify, analyse and conclude on accounting issues
Lead engagement teams in the field and coach and mentor junior staff members
Continuous communication with Managers and Partners updating the progress and status of the audit
Develop and maintain relationships with Management of the client
Provide service that represents a high-value mark for our firm, helping companies assess their risk as they work to ensure transparency across their operations
At times, business needs arise and employees are required to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfil their job responsibilities. Likewise, people need time to devote to personal matters, and our approach to flexibility provides for this
What you bring to this role:
Undergraduate degree
Successful completion of the CFE or working towards a CPA designation
3 - 5 years working in a public accounting firm using IFRS, working with publicly listed and/or private clients
For those interested in working with our FIRES team, experience working on financial institution or real estate clients would be desirable, however is not a requirement
Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong team player abilities
Meticulous attention to detail, organisation and planning skills
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this position is $59,500 to $94,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills, & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
