Seeking Canskate & Regional Certified Coach

Job Description

Northern BC Centre for Skating in Prince George is seeking a Club Coach that is CANSkate and Regional Coach Certified, a PowerSkating certification of any level would also be considered an asset. We are a mid-sized club in Prince George BC with roughly 230 members that is growing rapidly. We are looking for an enthusiastic coach that is able to coach all levels from PreCANSkate to Gold to join our energetic coaching team.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, collaborative, and enthusiastic about contributing to a team coaching environment. They should have a strong desire to learn and grow alongside the club. Availability for a minimum of 18 coaching hours and 5 administrative hours per week during the prime season is required, with the potential for additional hours as the club continues to expand.

??Willing to work with all skaters of all ages and abilities. ??Must be a team player. All programs are conducted with a strong team coaching philosophy. ??Able to coach all club programs from Pre-CanSkate to the Gold level. ??Able to coach group and private lessons in Skills, FreeSkate, Dance and Artistic ??Able to coach off-ice programs. ??Able to coach PowerSkating would be considered an asset but not required Passionate about both technical and expressive aspect of figure skating ??Able to commit to coaching in our summer camp?? Willing to oversee club programs during event weekends when our senior coaches are away. ??Willing to mentor our junior coaching staff and to be mentored by our experienced coaching team if applicable. Strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively with all ages and abilities (including skaters, parents, coaches, and volunteer executive members) ??Values aligned with our club mission to provide an inclusive and positive environment for developing skills, encouraging good sportsmanship, and building self-confidence. Willingness to perform administrative tasks such as; CANSkate Set up and Clean up, Star 1-5 assessments, lesson planning, and assisting the Director and Learn to Skate director with additional tasks as assigned. ??Must be in good standing with Skate Canada ??CANSkate and Regional Coach Certified ??PowerSkate in training or higher considered an asset ??Ability to coach skating at all levels from PreCanSkate to Gold ??Experience in off-ice training ??Knowledge and experience using Uplifter registration platform would be an asset Minimum wage is $25/hour or higher based on level of training and or experience
