The Opportunity


The Syncrude Sports and Wellness Center at Keyano College is currently seeking an Esports Strategic Coach in a part-time role for our Esports department. This is a contract position beginning in September 1st, 2025, and ending April 30th, 2026, with the option to extend up to 2 months depending on the team's season performance. This position has the option to work remotely and expected to work 15 - 18 hours per week. The schedule may vary based on competitive season schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities


Conduct strategic coaching and instructional activities during training, practice, and competitions


Attend all scheduled practices/matches Perform regular VOD reviews in live and recorded formats Prepare scouting reports and match summaries for all official games Track individual player progress and improvement over the course of the season
Assist the Team Liaison in talent scouting and recruitment efforts


Prepare talent scouting reports for all recruitment candidates Organize annual virtual varsity tryouts Coordinate with the Head Coach on the promotion of team recruitment efforts Qualifications


2+ years coaching Call of Duty or League of Legends in an amateur, collegiate, or professional environment


Knowledge of Esports athlete and title specific recruitment strategies


Strong interpersonal and communication skills


A commitment to fair play, sportsmanship, professionalism and responsible digital citizenship
Compensation and Benefits


Paid flat rate monthly of $1,000 CAD The total value of the contract is $8,000 CAD
