As a Seed Farm Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing daily farm operations, ensuring optimal planting, growing, harvesting, and storage processes. You will lead a dedicated team to achieve the highest yield and quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency.What Youll Do

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of farm workers and harvesting laborers.
  • Oversee crop maintenance, harvesting, and mini-tuber production in a screen-house environment.
  • Maintain detailed crop records and manage operations to meet seed certification standards.
  • Monitor and assess crop maturity, yield potential, and work requirements such as cultivating, rogueing, or harvesting.
  • Evaluate weather and soil conditions to optimize growing conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures for all workers and visitors.
  • Maintain production and safety records.
  • Direct and assist with farm equipment operation, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Oversee sorting and handling of produce to ensure the highest possible quality.
  • Manage potato storage, including monitoring, cleaning, and repairs.
  • Perform snow removal around storages and office buildings.
  • Support general farm duties as needed.

What Youll Bring
  • Post-secondary education in Agriculture (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in agriculture, ideally with potatoes.
  • Knowledge of agronomic techniques and ability to adapt to new methods.
  • Experience in screen-house mini-tuber production (preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and manage an efficient team.
  • Experience operating and maintaining farm equipment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Sprayer Application License or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Class 1 or Class 3 drivers license (asset).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible and extended hours during planting and harvest seasons.
