Security Specialist Position Summary We are looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to join our team of professional consultants in Cyber Security Analysis, Engineering and Architecture. This is a full-time position based in Toronto but offered Globally. Pivotree offers competitive compensation, flexible hours, and work from home.
The Cyber Security Specialist will act as an Information Security subject-matter expert and advisor, assigned to work on various deployment projects with our customers, to ensure that information security best practices are followed throughout the lifecycle. She/he will also act as a link between the project teams, business stakeholders and technical teams such as SOC, Compliance, Threat Intelligence, Vulnerability and Risk Management, Systems and Network Engineering, Software Development, 3rd Party Vendors/Suppliers, etc. The ideal candidate possesses a broad knowledge of information systems security and strong skills in networking, programming, and systems administration. Responsibilities Audit & provide Cyber Security expertise on infrastructure and backbones Provide functional and non-functional security requirements and associated Security Test Cases Produce threat models Implementation and management of security tools Ensure that security design principles are followed throughout the project's Lifecycle Review operational readiness prior to go-live Help with security risk management activities Follow Security Policies, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines, Legal and Regulatory Compliances Key Skills and Competencies Skills & Competencies . 6+ years of experience in Cyber Security . 2+ years of experience in Cyber Security tool deployment . Design and implementation experience with one or more SIEM technologies, incident detection and response and intrusion prevention technologies . Very good understanding of networking, Linux and Windows administration . Expert knowledge of security incident management, malware management and vulnerability management processes . Advanced understanding of securing cloud services, container and multi-tier web applications, data lake and relational databases, WAF and virtual firewalls, VPN, and host endpoint protection products.

  • Ability to be available after hours and participate in on-call rotations . Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills. . Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills. . Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment. Desired Skills: . Information Security professional designations such as CISSP, CISM, CISA . Compliance and audit experience (PCI, SOC2, ISO, etc.) .
