The successful candidate will not only have an advanced level of technical expertise but as a director of IT infrastructure operations you are responsible for managing the overall development, implementation, and maintenance of an organization\'s information technology infrastructure. This position requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure the alignment of the organization\'s computer systems and applications with its goals and objectives. CMLS Technology Solutions team provides technical expertise and dedicated support for all IT functional areas, including network set-up, development and production applications and services, and daily maintenance tasks pertaining to the data centre environments and all of our corporate office locations. About the Role: The role involves aligning security architectures with organizational goals, providing architectural consulting, and designing strategic and tactical plans for the security program in addition to assisting with all compliance control and audit activities. It requires staying updated on emerging threats and technologies, liaising with vendors, ensuring compliance with security standards, and implementing appropriate controls. The position also includes collaborating with various departments, advocating for information security, identifying gaps in the technology portfolio, and assisting with policy development. Additionally, responsibilities involve staying current on technology trends, managing security practices, educating staff on compliance, conducting risk assessments, and working with auditors to ensure compliance. Lastly, the role entails facilitating migration of non-compliant environments and conducting vulnerability assessments. This role is for you if you have:
  • Knowledge Of:
    • Compliance, disaster recovery planning and testing, auditing, risk management, business resumption planning, and contingency planning is important.
    • Secure and effective access controls, authentication, password management, DNS, cryptography fundamentals, ICMP, IPv6, public key infrastructure, Linux, Windows servers, VMWare, SCCM, network mapping, and network protocols.
    • Technologies that support a strong security posture for a complex infrastructure.
    • Information security standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, OWASP, CIS Controls etc.), rules and regulations related to information security and confidentiality (e.g., PCI, SOC, OSFI, ISO, PII Security best practices etc.) and other various security standards, Canadian government regulations and policies.
    • A proven track record in developing information security policies, privacy policies, and procedures, and successful execution
    • Technical acumen including but not limited to: OSI, IT infrastructure, cloud, application development languages, tools and frameworks, database technologies, web technologies, network architecture, enterprise architecture, and directory services
    • Security technology acumen and experience including but not limited to: firewall, intrusion detection, cyber-attack tools and defenses, encryption, certificate authority, web filtering, anti-malware, anti-phishing, identity and access management, multi factor authentication.

    • Be a consensus builder and persuasive leader with a strong commitment to teamwork and knowledge sharing who effectively communicates technical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
    • Balance operational tasks with long-term strategic technology and security initiatives.
    • Able to communicate security and risk-related concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences (in business terms), including senior leadership and mangers.
    • A natural influencer and coalition builder; passionate about building high performing teams
    • Ability to evangelize IT security to make it a critical part of business operations; build trust and respect for the security function
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure situations.
  • Completed a University degree or equivalent work experience. A degree in Computer Science or Engineering is an asset but not required;
  • More than 10 years work experience.
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Supported windows based enterprise applications and have experience in supporting the following:
    • VMWare Server Virtualization technology
    • Network administration including the support of Firewalls, network switches and routers.
    • Experience in managing, deploying and using cloud service (Microsoft Azure experience an asset)
  • Are experienced and knowledgeable in information technology information library (ITIL) and or COBIT methodologies;
  • Financial services or FinTech industry experience is considered an asset.
