Security Services Professional

Hansbraun Investments is looking for a talented and enthusiastic professional to join its Security Services Team. This role is responsible for security of Hansbraun shopping centres, while also building relationships with customers, tenants and people in the community. We are a local family business that puts people first and are committed to making a positive impact in our community.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this role is an even split of security guard, safety ambassador and customer service superstar.

Position Details:

Schedule: Fridays, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.; Saturdays & Sundays, 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Additional Opportunities: Option to provide coverage for vacations, statutory holidays, and wellness days.

Responsibilities

Some of the things you'll be responsible for in this role:

Providing regular security patrols and acting as a community liaison that supports a safe environment for everyone who visits our properties. Able to continuously patrol and climb stairs on foot to promote a strong security presence. Respond to tenant and staff requests in a timely and professional manner. Interact with various members of the public and de-escalate any hostile situations with professionalism and kindness. Help to educate tenants and visitors to the company policies at our Hansbraun properties. Use tact and compassion to discourage people from loitering in unsafe areas on the property. Complete detailed incident reports regarding issues observed and encountered on the property. Assist maintenance team or contractors if they need to be escorted in and around the shopping centres. Assist contractors as needed to provide building access to secure areas as required. Assist and take daily direction from the Operations Supervisor. Participate in the Health & Safety Committee as required. Assist in performing health and safety audits on a regular basis. Attend team meetings as scheduled and share ideas for strengthening a safe/positive work culture. Record work/task details and complete digital timesheets on a smart phone.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

A valid BC security worker licence

.

A valid BC driver's licence

. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. A high level of professionalism, tact and compassion when dealing with people. 1 year or more security experience working with vulnerable members of the community. The ability to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently during a full shift. The ability to build strong relationships within the Hansbraun team. Impeccable customer service skills with a friendly, outgoing disposition. First Aid certification an asset.
