- hourly rate is $18.00/hour

- travel is paid

- accommodations and food at camp

- rotation is 21 days and 7 days off

- shifts are overnights, ONLY from 11pm - 11am and 7pm - 7am

The Security Officer is responsible for patrolling the premises of residences or buildings to detect suspicious activity, assist tenants, and ensure the safety of occupants. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Qualifications

General Responsibilities:
\xe2\x96\xaa Guard\xe2\x80\x99s property against damage, fire, theft, trespassing and illegal entry.
\xe2\x96\xaa Makes periodic rounds about buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows and gates to ensure that they are properly secured.
\xe2\x96\xaa Enforces regulations and ensures the observance of applicable laws.
\xe2\x96\xaa In the event of infractions, warns or evict patrons.
\xe2\x96\xaa Interviews guests and employees to detect infringements and to investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism and accidents or incidents.
\xe2\x96\xaa Reports irregularities to management.
\xe2\x96\xaa Provides assistance for accident victims and handles emergency.
\xe2\x96\xaa May lift and move equipment or a person or pursue or apprehend people.
\xe2\x96\xaa May assist management and law enforcement officials in emergency situations, apprehending unauthorized persons found on the property, searching and seizing items (sometimes requiring force), and investigating suspected thefts.
\xe2\x96\xaa Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
\xe2\x96\xaa Applies all applicable provincial and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
\xe2\x96\xaa Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
\xe2\x96\xaa Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
\xe2\x96\xaa Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
\xe2\x96\xaa Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
\xe2\x96\xaa May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience/Knowledge:
\xe2\x96\xaa High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
\xe2\x96\xaa 0 to 2 years of related experience.
\xe2\x96\xaa Demonstrated knowledge of security procedures.
\xe2\x96\xaa Private security or public police experience preferred.
Skills/Aptitude:
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to present self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers and client representatives.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to provide clear directions and respond accordingly to employees.
\xe2\x96\xaa Must have basic phone and computer skills (email, texting, etc.).
\xe2\x96\xaa Good attention to detail.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to work well under pressure.
\xe2\x96\xaa Excellent oral and written communication skills.
\xe2\x96\xaa Excellent management and organizational skills.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to work well alone and in a team.
\xe2\x96\xaa Knowledge of and proficiency in all provincial and local requirements related to all assigned work.
\xe2\x96\xaa Bilingualism (English / French) may be required, depending on location.
License/Qualifications
Certifications:
\xe2\x96\xaa May require registration or license as a security guard according to provincial legislation.
\xe2\x96\xaa Valid provincial driver/operator\'s license (commercial) may be required.
\xe2\x96\xaa May require license to carry arms by provincial/municipal authority
\xe2\x96\xaa Provincial Liquor Handling Certification, where applicable
