Security Guard - Part Time - Transit Terminal

Site Description:

A busy public transit terminal serving local and regional bus routes. The facility includes indoor waiting areas, ticketing services, and passenger amenities. Security personnel are responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment, monitoring activity, assisting passengers, and responding to incidents with professionalism and strong customer service.

Welland Transit Terminal - 159 East Main St Welland

Hours:

Monday to Friday (1930-2330 hrs)

Payrate:

$18.35/hr.

Averaging Agreement:

Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Key Responsibilities:

Being alert and observant while being outside, standing or walking for an extended period in all weather conditions (Rain, Snow, Excessive Heat & Cold...etc.) Always Maintain communications with fellow Security Guard/dispatchers, Cliental and Paladin Managerial Staff. Ensures all site staff adhere to all Paladin Security policies and procedures Ensures proper documentation is passed onto the Shift Leads/Dispatchers, client and Paladin leadership team Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints Communicates any concerns/issues with Supervisor/Client Service Manager or the client Ability to work alone and be self-motivated Always Maintain the highest standard of security, being professional in attitude, appearance and application. Represent Paladin Security, Client and their respected customers in such a way as to enhance the quality, image and reputation of Client. Perform security duties in accordance with established procedures. Ensure they are being conducted within the limitations of any federal, provincial and municipal laws. Be observant and record all discrepancies, deficiencies and safety hazards/ concerns noted during patrols and take corrective action either informing the applicable department or handling it personally, whenever possible. Be courteous, and helpful in enforcing all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client. Respond immediately to any emergency and co-ordinate response accordingly based off established procedures.

Prerequisites:

Valid Security License for the province of Ontario Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor) Covid Vaccine two doses English (oral and written) fluency is a must Previous one years experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field. Ability to walk/climb stairs throughout the premises for longer periods of time Legally authorized to work in Canada Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
