Commonwealth Stadium is recognized as one of the premiere open air, live entertainment venues in the world. It is home to the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League as well as hosting sold out concerts and international sporting events in soccer, rugby and athletics. Our Security Guards are critical to the success of these events and the venues/facilities where they are posted. In this role, you will play an essential part in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience at all events through general security enforcement. You will succeed if you can perform all your tasks in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way.
What will you do?
Greet patrons in a friendly and courteous manner as they enter the facility
Review credentials at access control points
Restrict admittance to ticket holders, direct media and VIPs
Restrict entry and re-entry to Stadium events
Direct patrons, visitors and staff to specific areas/gates
Enforce stadium rules and regulations
Conduct patrols and observe/report on incidents
Watch the crowd for prohibited items and actions
Escalate situations appropriately to Command Centre and Edmonton Police Services in emergency situations
Conduct bag and personal searches
Other related duties as required
Qualifications
:Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent or higher
Currently licensed under the Security Services and Investigators Act by Alberta Justice and Solicitor General, and be in good standing Please attach your security license to your application
Some experience working as a security guard at a live entertainment venue or related experience is preferred
Asset:
Additional security certifications and/or First Aid Training
Skills required for success:
Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, including the ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions and information
Ability to make decisions and resolve conflict in difficult situations in an influential, professional, respectful and inclusive way
Excellent problem solving, judgment and negotiation skills

Conditions of Employment:
ProServe Liquor Staff training and ProTect Security Staff Training are required and must be obtained prior to starting your role

Work Environment:
Successful candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays from May to December
