Job Description

We are currently looking for a Security Guard who will be responsible for delivering a consistent and superior level of customer service to clients by actively seeking out opportunities to provide assistance and support. This individual will ensure that property rules and standards are observed by maintaining a highly visible and reassuring presence through their assigned patrol and post duties, promoting and enforcing safety and security. The Security Guard will act as a deterrent to irregular and undesired activity and will help to maintain a visibly safe and welcoming property environment.


Job Duties:




Secures premises and personnel by monitoring and preventing intrusion, damage, hazards and breaches of security. Protect property and tenants from theft, damage, trespassing or accidents. Provide a visible presence that enforces safety and security. Monitor and control surveillance equipment, such as cameras and door access records according to prescribed protocol. Receive and promptly address residents' concerns such as noise complaints, suspicious persons around the property, break-ins, etc. Monitor visitor parking for misuse by unauthorized people and utilize the building guest policy to issue guest passes and monitor parking stalls. Maintain the organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements and enforcing relevant laws and regulations pertaining to all individuals on the property. Report any infractions and violations and contact relevant authorities to deal with unlawful or irregular activities. Implement the prescribed emergency plan in case of emergency. Conducts interior and exterior property checks for maintenance issues, malfunctions or hazards, including inspection of buildings, equipment, access points, fire alarms and security systems. Collaborate with on-call maintenance team, making adjustments and minor repairs when necessary, and requesting maintenance when appropriate. Assist the maintenance staff in securing an area during a maintenance emergency. Assure the safety of tenants, by assisting with snow removal when necessary. Conduct themselves in a friendly and professional manner at all times. Compile detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, observations and incidents.

Qualifications:




A valid Alberta Security License required prior to employment Minimum two (2) years of security experience. Current CPR/First Aid Certification prior to employment. WHMIS and other safety courses are an asset. Knowledge of the Criminal Code: Trespass to Premises Act; Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation and regulations. Must be certified in Basic Handcuff Training Driver's Abstract Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of emergency and standard operating procedures. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Sound judgment, discretion and overall decision-making skills.

This is a 12-hour overnight shift (Thurs, Fri, Sat, on rotation, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat)
