Job Description

The security at front desk role is to provide security services and assistance to residents, visitors, staff and volunteers to promote a safe and secure environment at Shepherd Village andits properties. Perform inside and outside security rounds nightly, in conjunction with other security staff. Monitor and question all incoming and outgoing traffic at the main entrance.Respond to any emergency calls. Provide support to other Shepherd Village staff on duty.QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Security License obtained through the Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Previous experience in health care type setting is preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to understand and follow directions.
• A trustworthy person who has some knowledge of building systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain efficient and effective performance of all aspects of the Security position, maintaining amicable relations with residents, family members, other responsible parties and staff.
• Conduct Parking enforcement duties.
• Work in accordance with the health and safety act, Residential Tenancy Act and the Ontario Fire Code.
• Make security patrols and checks for all buildings and parking lots of Shepherd Village.
• Monitor access and egress; screen incoming and outgoing traffic at the main entrance.
• Effectively handle all incoming phone calls regarding staffing issues and those from residents with concerns.
• Approach and question trespassers on the property.
• Respond to all emergencies and alarms on the property.
• Perform minor grounds maintenance as required.
• Provide call up service for residents of the Village.
