What does a Dispatcher in Toronto do?

+ Monitor and oversee all communications within the assigned operational area + Coordinate with mobile patrol units, static guards, supervisors, and clients
+ Receive, assess, and assign work instructions based on priority and resource availability
+ Maintain accurate logs, dispatch records, and incident documentation
+ Relay important updates such as road closures, traffic issues, or operational changes
+ Organize and allocate resources efficiently during regular operations and incidents
+ Assist with emergency response coordination when required

Qualifications to become a Dispatcher

+ High school diploma or equivalent + Strong communication skills (English required; bilingualism an asset if applicable)
+ Ability to work overnight 20:00-08:00 continental rotational schedule
+ Strong computer skills and ability to learn dispatching/monitoring software
+ Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to remain calm during high-pressure situations
+ Eligible to work in Canada
+ Ability to reliably commute to our North York Control Centre
+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced control centre environment
