Under the supervision of the Manager, Niagara Takes Flight and within established policies, procedures and guidelines; the Seasonal Supervisor will assist in supervising the day-to-day operations at the Niagara Takes Flight attraction, while ensuring an exceptional guest experience for the attraction across several touchpoints including greeting guests, ticketing, retail sales, show operations and supporting the pre-show experience. This role will require a strong understanding and experience in implementing and adhering to best practices relating to the supervision of the retail and attractions areas of Niagara Takes Flight.

Niagara Parks offers a salary of $63,727.53

to $76,13.23

per annum for this position as well as a comprehensive benefit and defined benefit pension plan.

QUALIFICATIONS



Education:



Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration, Hospitality or Tourism, and/or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Experience:



A minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience, preferably in retail or tourism industries. Managerial experience in a unionized environment considered an asset

Experience with POS systems required (experience with Retail Pro and/or the Accesso system preferred). Highly effective communications, presentation and customer service skills. Requirement to work varying shifts (including evenings) and weekends. Ability to bend, stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to maneuver around the facility and stock room and lift up to 30lbs.

KEY ACTIVITIES



Supports measures to monitor and ensure high levels of customer service and related standards are achieved for the retail and attraction operations at Niagara Takes Flight. Supervises both unionized and non-unionized employees in a high-visitation and high-volume environment. Supervises daily cash transactions for the retail and attraction operations including floats, billings, imprest funds, daily change orders, and cash audits. Supervises and participates in functions related to the sale and delivery of tickets and packages to visitors, including inventory, time-ticketing, reservations, and point of sale troubleshooting. Supports the Site Manager in the investigation, determination, and implementation of the best course of action to ensure prompt and efficient customer service regarding inquiries/complaints from employees/public/etc. Supports and participates in initiatives related to the community to promote the Niagara Parks brand. Participates in the improvement and change of product lines, store merchandising (display optimization and appropriate quantities), and signage as required in co-operation with the Manager. Participates in site-specific training on how to operate and support the Niagara Takes Flight attraction with the goal of developing a deep knowledge on the attraction delivery. Troubleshoots and maintains technical equipment required to operate the Niagara Takes Flight attraction within the scope of training provided and coordinates with the attraction maintenance team to arrange for repairs as necessary. Participates in training to operate the Niagara Takes Flight ride with the objective of being able to independently operate the ride as a back-up. Assists in maintaining and updating all safety and operational records for the attraction. Acts as a subject matter expert on the attraction pre-show content delivery and delivers training, mentors, and coaches staff on all aspects in providing the products and services related to Niagara Takes Flight and Niagara Parks. Liaises with other Niagara Parks locations and external parties for site specific requirements such as service interruptions, requests for support, and proactive communications. Acts in the capacity of the Manager, as required in their absence.

Finance & Administration



Monitors the daily financial performance against budgetary standards and records data with respect to sales productivity/labour costs, inventory control/shrinkage, sales revenues, and accident reports. Participates in hiring decisions and corrective action, monitors staff performance, prepares and delivers staff performance appraisals, and conducts training. Administers recommendations from the Manager related to scheduling, staff development, training, and employee relations. Makes recommendations for the continuous improvement of existing procedures, practices, and reporting methods.

Performs Other Related Duties



Assists in any aspect of the daily retail and attraction operation as required. Ensures that employees, contractors, etc. are provided with the required training and are working in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Technical Standards and Safety Act, Canadian Food Inspection Agency Act, Corporate Policies and Procedures, and the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard. Ensures the security and cleanliness of NPC assets and property.
