We are hiring a Seasonal Supervisor for The Lookout Restaurant at Gray Monk Winery.

The Hospitality Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting daily front-of-house (FOH) operations, delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences across various service areas including the main dining room, patios, and events. This role ensures seamless guest experiences while supporting team performance and maintaining operational standards.

Perched above the stunning Okanagan Valley, The Lookout Restaurant offers a feast for the senses with its vibrant regional flavours and an atmosphere that perfectly complements the natural beauty of its surroundings.

The teammate will be responsible for -



Daily Operations

Execute opening and closing duties as scheduled Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily service expectations Support function/event execution by coordinating FOH team and liaising with kitchen and event staff Ensure menus and function sheets are accurate and up to date Assist in inventory checks and basic cost control practices under manager direction

Team Supervision & Leadership

Support the FOH team through on-the-floor leadership and mentorship Coach and motivate team members to deliver high service standards and achieve upselling goals Assist with onboarding and training new staff Communicate staffing needs and performance concerns to the Assistant Hospitality Manager

Guest Service

Maintain a strong floor presence to support team and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally Promote a positive and welcoming guest experience at all times Champion upselling opportunities and contribute to revenue targets

Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure FOH areas are clean, organized, and meet safety standards Report and respond to any health and safety issues promptly Support a culture of safety awareness among FOH team members

Technology & Systems

Utilize POS systems and DayForce to support scheduling and payroll-related tasks Report team timecard issues or corrections to the Assistant Hospitality Manager

Collaborating with:



Kitchen, Retail, Guest Relations, and Events teams External partners such as tour operators and function coordinators

Supervises:



Front-of-house service team (servers, hosts, bussers, bartenders)

We are looking for a teammate with -

2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a hospitality or restaurant environment Post-secondary education in Hospitality or a related field preferred Strong knowledge of wine and cocktails; WSET or Sommelier training considered an asset Excellent customer service, communication, and leadership skills Comfortable using restaurant technology (POS, Microsoft Office, scheduling software)

Standing and walking for long periods; occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs) Split between indoor and outdoor work; variable weather conditions Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required Fast-paced, high-volume environment during peak seasons
