Job Summary:
The Prep Cook will assist with the food preparation, organization, and creation processes for delivering food service. Cooks report to our Executive Chef and Sous Chef. This position is required to be versatile and responsive to the tasks the team needs in producing the highest quality dishes and service. Our ideal candidate has strong culinary skills and is a positive team member that is excited about creating memorable guest experiences.
Overview of Responsibilities:
Working as part of a close team to create dishes guests will love while delivering consistent, quality service.
Being organized and having everything in its place so you can respond to orders in a timely and orderly way.
Working in a fast-paced environment that is clean, tidy, and safe.
Shares a deep love of food and the belief in its ability to motivate, inspire, educate and entertain.
Being part of a team of positive, high achievers who care about their guests and the company they are representing.
Such other and unrelated duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Employer.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
2-3 years of kitchen experience, ideally in a catering and events environment.
Experience with all kitchen equipment and practices, including meat cutting, seafood preparation, grilling, searing, vegetable prep and sauce making.
Food Safe certification required.
Valid Class 5 drivers license (an asset).
Ability to follow recipes accurately while always keeping quality top of mind.
Strong organizational skills, work ethic and team player mentality.
Hours of Work:
This is a seasonal 4-5 week full-time opportunity.The hours of work can be flexible to the candidates needs. Hours of operation are 5am-9pm
Work Location:
In person at Truffles Catering office in Brentwood Bay
Pay:
Starting at $23 an hour, wage is negotiable depending on experience and skillset
