About this opportunity:

Cenovus is currently looking for an SCM Well Delivery Advisor to be responsible for the end-to-end Category Management of a defined portfolio within the SCM Well Delivery team. Activities include strategy development and implementation for respective categories, executing and implementing sourcing initiatives and activities, and developing demand/supply plans, with a focus on continuously improving the value of the portfolio and creating innovative strategies to drive value for key stakeholders.

In addition, the incumbent in this position will manage sourcing efforts and coordinate with other teams in Supply Chain to ensure the success of the relevant annual programs. Activities include executing the strategies devised for the successful implementation of those programs, as well as providing solutions and guidance to the other SCM Advisors (acting as a subject matter expert on these programs where appropriate) to develop solutions through analytical, interpretative, and creative thinking.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide input that supports the development of annual & long-term strategic plans and budgets

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, suppliers and other SCM teams to identify opportunities, set joint targets, and plan activities that align with company plans & budgets

  • Secure the supply of goods and services for a defined portfolio and manage the associated price and/or supply risks

  • Conduct sourcing and contracting activities in an efficient and effective manner that delivers maximum value for the organization

  • Ensure Cenovus is conducting business with financially viable, technically qualified suppliers, who operate within their expertise, and have a proven safety record

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure approved buying, receiving and transportation channels are leveraged to maximize efficiencies within the supply chain and ensure materials and services are available where and when they are needed

  • Prepare strategy and award/amend documentation. Execute contracts that fully reflect final negotiated outcomes and complete necessary implementation planning

  • Stay informed and share supply chain trends impacting the business and industry

  • Ensure data and information is accurate, maintained, and accessible


Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or equivalent would be an asset

  • 4+ years of progressive strategic sourcing and procurement experience

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team

  • Sourcing expertise with planning, assessing, and implementing outsourcing and multi-sourcing delivery models

  • Experience facilitating or participating on cross-functional teams considered an asset

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills

  • Strong analytical skills. Able to solve problems through honest analysis coupled with good judgment, initiative, and decision-making abilities

  • Strong communication skills. Able to speak and write clearly and succinctly in a variety of settings and with different levels of stakeholders

  • SCM experience with drilling and completions categories considered an asset

  • SCMP designation considered an asset

  • Experience working with SAP/Ariba considered an asset
