Job Description


Our client, a Canadian multinational energy transportation company with a focus on the transportation, distribution, and generation of energy, has an immediate need for a Supply Chain Management Project Business Partner. This is a contract position for one (1) year located in Calgary, Alberta.

Description

The SCM Project Business Partner in this role will be accountable for ensuring the procurement of goods, materials, construction contracts, and ancillary services are planned and delivered at a competitive cost, within agreed timelines, and in accordance with project priorities. And will be the primary point of contact for the business and Specialist working under the guidance and direction of the SCM Manager. The role would typically oversee projects that range up to $100+MM per annum.

Accountabilities

  • Support Project Teams when they have any questions related to general SCM support with the following
  • They require SCM support with setting up a new project (e.g. input to PMP)
  • They want to develop an SCM supply plan and contracting plan for a project
  • They want to modify the content of an approved SCM supply plan or contracting plan
  • They have concerns regarding SCM performance on any deliverables that are part of an approved SCM supply plan (i.e. deviation in scope, cost, schedule, or quality)Specific Accountabilities
  • Act as a primary point of contact for the business (project/program/development teams)
  • Represent SCM at project team meetings
  • Engage SCM functional staff (Category Management, Project Buyers, Contract Specialists/Administrators, Logistics, Expediting) to assist in the development of key deliverables including but not limited to the Project Management Plan (which includes the procurement plan, logistics plan, etc.) and the SCM supply plan and contracting plan
  • Develop the SCM component of the Project Management Plan (PMP)
  • Develop the SCM supply plan and contracting plan
  • Monitor actual performance against the SCM supply plan and contracting plan and address issues / concerns
  • Facilitate approval of Contract Development Plans (CDP) & Contract Award Recommendations (CAR)
  • Provide input into SCM progress reports? Support value creation activities? Coordinate stage gate reviews
  • Facilitate SCM participation in the project lessons learned sessions
  • Contacts (Working Relationships)
  • Works across all SCM teams (SSC buyers, logistics & expediting/category management)
  • Works with Project/Programs/Development teams, Project engineers, and SCM Managers
  • Prepares information for presentation to Manager and Directors Reporting Relationships
Required
  • Approx. 7 (or various) years of related of project, commercial or technical business experience in the Oil & Gas ,or related, industry
  • Solid understanding of leading supply chain techniques (including but not limited to total cost ownership principles, category management and strategic sourcing models, supplier qualification methodology)
  • Minimum of B.S. or equivalent in Supply Chain or a relevant engineering, legal or business discipline
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP)/ Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) program enrollment beneficial.
  • Experience with multiple sourcing methodologies (RFX, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop wide and diverse networks
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence third parties such as suppliers, governmental organizations and partners
  • Strong analytical skill and cost modelling experience? Excellent facilitation and project management skills
  • Proficient software and computer skills, Ariba or equivalent experience an asset, SharePoint experience an asset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders, large organizations and multiple regions to drive common solutions
  • Excellent influencing and engagement skills with ability to energize others at all levels of the organization
  • Fosters effective teamwork and collaboration
  • High level of energy, drive, and resilience in the face of resistance
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders/customers without authority.
  • Superior negotiation and communication skills
Additional Information
  • Hybrid working schedule Mon, Tues, Thur in office with option to work from Home Wed, Fri
  • May require Travel Requirement: 5 - 10% travel requirement
