We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive

Day Porter

to join our team in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in cleaning or janitorial services and must hold a valid

Vulnerable Sector Check

(or be willing to obtain one).

Key Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas throughout the day. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wash floors as needed. Empty and replace trash, recycling, and waste bins regularly. Refill restroom and classroom supplies (paper, soap, towels, etc.). Clean glass doors, windows, mirrors, and other touch surfaces. Respond promptly to spills, messes, or urgent cleaning requests during school hours. Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor or maintenance team. Support set-up and clean-up for school events (moving tables, chairs, etc.). Perform light maintenance duties as required (e.g., replacing light bulbs or filters). Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.

Requirements & Qualifications

Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or building maintenance roles (preferably in schools or institutional environments). Valid

Vulnerable Sector Check

(or willingness to complete one prior to start). Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication and teamwork skills. Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Basic understanding of safe cleaning product use and sanitation standards. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.

Schedule & Compensation

Day shift (typically 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., may vary by school). Full-time or part-time opportunities available.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.20-$17.50 per hour
