Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of all plumbing equipment and plumbing systems. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week falling between the hours of 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.
The Plumber Certified Trades Salary range is $69,448 to $74,546 per annum (established based on the Collective Agreement).
Responsibility:
Perform preventative maintenance, routine and reactive maintenance, and install plumbing equipment and systems;
Conduct regular inspections and make repairs to equipment and installations including, domestic hot water pumps, water conditioning equipment, water supply and sanitary and storm waste systems;
Emergency service to the above as required;
Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 (OSSGD) is required or equivalent
Hold a valid journeyman's Plumber certification in the province of Ontario, license #306 A with five years' experience in maintenance and construction;
Gas Tech 2 license would be asset;
A certified Operator Certificate with working knowledge of wells and water treatment equipment would be an asset;
Certification in back flow prevention;
Training in Potable Water Treatment would be an asset;
Ability to read plans, specs, blueprints and manufacturer's literature;
Knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS Regulations, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and safe handling of hazardous materials;
Must be self-motivated, safety-conscious, and possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
Basic computer skills are required. External candidates will undergo testing for basic computer literacy;
Valid class G driver's license with a safe driving record is required. Board vehicle supplied upon signing Vehicle Use Agreement;
