Position Overview

The Scheduling Unit Lead is a member of the Home Care Team with Home Care Scheduling expertise reporting to the Team Manager.

The Scheduling Unit Lead will:

  • Provide oversight to the Scheduling Unit ensuring service delivery to Home Care clients is assigned efficiently within Program standards.
  • Work with the Home Care team to ensure service benchmarks are met.
  • Provide mentorship to new and existing Scheduling Clerks.
  • Work collaboratively with the larger Home Care team including Case Coordinators, Resource Coordinators, Scheduling Clerks, Direct Service staff, Team Managers and Program Support teams.
  • Work closely with the Team Manager and Resource Coordinators in analyzing optimal staffing rotations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of Home Care services.
Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in home care scheduling required
  • Resource Coordinator experience an asset
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Recognized post-secondary certificate and/or diploma in health or social services or human resources required
Qualifications and Skills
  • High proficiency in the Electronic Home Care Record (EHCR) and Home Care Scheduling practices required
  • Competent in Windows-based computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills desired
  • Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize a large complex workload to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Knowledge and understanding of cultural diversity as it relates to clients and staff
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member, work collaboratively across sectors, and be an active participant in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently
  • Understanding of collective agreements and application to Home Care scheduling
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
