About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, TSL Upstream Pipeline, the focus of this position is to support the Schedulers and Traders in maintaining a supply and demand position for Cenovus assets. Additionally, this position will support scheduling and marketing accounting through actualization of data as required to ensure that monthly settlement is accurate.

This position is located in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities:

  • Front office position is both an individual and team contributor in creating efficiencies for the team.

  • The Trading and Scheduling organization is deadline driven, in a multi-tasking environment and thus detail in management of activities to ensure applicable obligations are met, is a critical component of this role.

  • Creating and automating tools to accurately capture and audit Cenovus\xe2\x80\x99 physical/financial trading positions and logistical information, month-end volumetric reconciliation, inventory management and trade book balancing, and assisting the team with daily pipeline operations and customer accounts.

  • Monitoring and tying physical exposures to risk to ensure optimization of asset operations and accurate PnL reporting

  • Inventory tracking and management of physical inventory tying to physical crude/diluent movements

  • Month end balancing, tying actualization data to Shipper Statements by Trade Books and market area


Competencies:

  • Experience with liquid commodities

  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills with familiarity of Visual Basic (VBA), SQL, R/Python and Power BI

  • Price fundamentals and risk management knowledge will be an asset

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. and Canadian crude and diluent transport (rail/pipe) systems

  • Sound understanding of logistical interfaces between pipe, rail and marine transportation interconnects

  • ETRM experience including, Egistix, Allegro

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the pipeline\xe2\x80\x99s rules and regulations

  • Ability to respond effectively/efficiently to the needs of diverse clients with a focus on customer service

  • The \xe2\x80\x98how\xe2\x80\x99 matters as much in this role as the \xe2\x80\x98what\xe2\x80\x99. The relationships a scheduling analyst fosters both internally and externally is key to a successful scheduling analyst. The ability to balance an approach to each situation is equally important to what the outcome of the situation is.

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in the Canada

  • University Degree in Business (Finance), Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering preferred

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Oil & Gas, preference will be given to those with experience in a Trading & Scheduling Department. New graduates will also be considered

  • Strong ability to analyze complex information & details, and present findings in a clear concise format

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the pipeline\xe2\x80\x99s rules and regulations

  • Ability to respond effectively/efficiently to the needs of diverse clients with a focus on customer service
