NOVA Chemicals\xe2\x80\x99 Joffre manufacturing facility lies just east of Red Deer, Alberta and is one the largest ethylene and polyethylene production complexes in the world. The site consists of five manufacturing facilities: three for ethylene production and two for polyethylene production.
Joffre\xe2\x80\x99s first ethylene plant started production in 1979 and was the first manufacturing facility built by NOVA Chemicals. A second ethylene plant and a polyethylene plant began production in 1984. In the year 2000, NOVA Chemicals started up a third ethylene plant, as part of a joint venture with DOW Chemical, that nearly doubled Joffre\xe2\x80\x99s ethylene production, taking it to 4.8 billion pounds (2165 kilotons) annually.
Jardeg Construction is currently seeking Scaffolder Journeyperson to join the team supporting NOVA at Joffre, AB, for turnaround and pre-work. This is a Full Time Temporary position on 4/3, 10 hours a day. Eligible candidates will be provided LOA

Responsibilities:


  • Practice safe and secure scaffold access without compromising on safety
  • Communicate effectively with both staff and supervision to ensure expectations are met
  • Design scaffolds to site requirements, material specifications and CSA standards
  • Safe work practices in the industrial environment with knowledge of Task Hazard Assessments
  • Fully competent with assembling, dismantling and modifying System (Layer/Ring Lock) and Tube & Clamp scaffolds
  • Knowledge of isometric drawings an asset
  • Supporting colleagues and participating in skills transfer
  • Prioritizing daily work load with managing materials efficiently

Minimum Requirements:

  • Scaffold Certificate affiliation is preferred (or proof of hours)
  • Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning abilities.
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020)
  • ESC Fall Protection.
  • ESC Confined Space.
  • Aerial Work Platform (preferred not required).
  • Standard First Aid preferred not required).
