Jardeg is hiring Scaffolder Journeypersons to join the Heartland Constructors Inc. maintenance team at the CNRL Albian site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. Come be a part of an outstanding team working with industry leaders that have been executing work at the Albian site for over a decade. This is a fly in, fly out position. Charter flights are provided by the company from Calgary or Edmonton. The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off rotation working 11.5 hours per day (2 x 30 minutes breaks, 1 paid, 1 unpaid). This gives our employees a great work life balance. This location has two major turnarounds and several smaller outages throughout the year. This position has the benefit of consistent long-term work with the financial benefit of working outages and turnarounds throughout the year if you would like the additional overtime.

Scaffolders provide safe and secure scaffold access without compromising on safety. Assemble, dismantle, modify system and tube and clamp scaffolds.
A scaffolder Journeyperson will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Practice safe and secure scaffold access without compromising on safety
  • Communicate effectively with both staff and supervision to ensure expectations are met
  • Design scaffolds to site requirements, material specifications and CSA standards
  • Safe work practices in the industrial environment with knowledge of Task Hazard Assessments
  • Fully competent with assembling, dismantling and modifying System (Layer/Ring Lock) and Tube & Clamp scaffolds
  • Knowledge of isometric drawings an asset
  • Supporting colleagues and participating in skills transfer
  • Prioritizing daily work load with managing materials efficiently
Preferred Requirements
  • Scaffold Certificate affiliation is preferred
  • Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning abilities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or CSTS-09
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection
  • Basic Rigging Certification
  • Valid Government Issued Identification
