SAP FI Solution Lead

Position Highlights
BC Hydro operates a large and complex SAP S/4HANA environment covering Finance, Supply Chain, HCM, IS-U, PPM,
and SD within a single integrated instance. With the S/4HANA migration completed, the organization is now focused on
optimizing financial processes, strengthening governance, and advancing automation and analytics across the enterprise.
The SAP FI Solution Lead will play a key role in driving these initiatives by providing design direction, solution leadership,
and continuous improvement for all financial processes within SAP.
Working within the IT Operations ERP team, the SAP Financials (FI) Solution Lead is responsible for the full lifecycle of
the SAP Finance solution--from solution design and project delivery to sustainment and strategic roadmap planning.
Reporting to the Chief Product Owner for ERP Solutions, this senior role supports BC Hydro's enterprise applications
strategy by deepening internal SAP Finance capabilities. The position spans operations and enhancement delivery,
ensuring the SAP Finance solution remains stable, compliant, and aligned with evolving business priorities.
What you'll do
Own and manage all aspects of the SAP S/4HANA Finance solution and its integrations, including incident management,
budgeting, vendor relationships, and internal/external resource oversight.
Lead the SAP FI strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with BC Hydro's enterprise goals and ongoing digital
transformation.
Facilitate design workshops and produce blueprint documentation for General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts
Receivable, Asset Accounting, etc.
Act as a subject matter expert on S/4HANA Finance capabilities such as Universal Journal, Central Finance concepts,
Group Reporting, and Financial Closing Cockpit.
Serve as solution or functional lead on SAP FI-related projects and provide governance on cross-module integrations (e.
g., with MM, PS, EAM and HR).
Manage delivery of enhancement and automation initiatives that improve accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial
reporting.
Act as the primary liaison between the finance business community, IT operations, and project delivery teams.
Continuously identify process improvement and automation opportunities, leveraging standard S/4HANA functionality and
emerging SAP technologies.
What you bring
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
System expert in SAP FI (S/4HANA preferred) with at least 3 full lifecycle implementations and 10+ years of progressive
SAP experience in utilities or consulting.
Strong understanding of financial accounting processes, including statutory and management reporting, fixed asset
accounting, intercompany processes, and month-end close.
Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions and lead end-to-end design and
configuration.
Excellent written, verbal, and facilitation skills to engage effectively with business and IT stakeholders.
Experience sustaining and enhancing SAP FI/CO solutions in a complex enterprise environment.
Knowledge of utility industry financial processes, including capital project accounting, regulatory reporting, and rate-based
asset management, is an asset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering continuous improvement and business.
