Job Description

Position Overview:

A Sand Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specialized trucks used to transport and distribute sand for various purposes. Must have experience in a skid steer to load sand. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work in diverse weather and road conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Truck Operation:

Safely operate sand trucks to transport and distribute sand to designated locations, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies.

Loading and Unloading:

Oversee the proper loading and unloading of sand, ensuring weight distribution and load security meet safety standards. Operate skid steer loaders to complete tasks such as loading sand.

Sand Distribution:

Accurately spread sand on roads, construction sites, or other surfaces as required, using truck-mounted equipment.

Maintenance:

Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of the truck, including checking oil, fuel, tires, and other critical components. Report any mechanical issues promptly.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and maintenance activities as required by company policies or regulations.

Communication:

Use communication tools (e.g., CB radios, GPS systems) to coordinate with supervisors, dispatchers, and other team members.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

Valid Full G driver's license Proven experience operating heavy trucks, preferably in sand hauling or similar industries. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and challenging terrains. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to perform tasks such as climbing, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

Work Environment:

Outdoor work in diverse weather conditions, including extreme cold or heat. Long hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, or holidays, depending on operational needs. Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
