Sales Representative -Marine Products Division - Remote position within the USA CMP Group Ltd. (CMP) is a global manufacturing company with 6 manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout Canada, United States, Italy, Australia and China. CMP supplies the recreational and commercial marine industries with a broad range of products for various industry segments, including anchoring & ground tackle, corrosion, dock & boat accessories and steering & controls. CMP manufactures and distributes products under the brands, Martyr, Rocna, Vulcan, Titan, Panther, Dock Edge, Octopus, Intellisteer, Sanitation Equipment and Trollmaster. The Sales Representative is responsible for managing and developing sales in North America for all existing and new accounts in conjunction with our existing rep agencies and assumes responsibility for (old & new) customer relationships and service. Responsibilities \xe2\x80\x93 (include account management, sales prospecting, strategic planning, marketing support and reporting)
  • Sell to and maintain contact with all accounts through direct contact; promote positive relations with all customers
  • Maintain a profit margin for all accounts and sales growth targets in area of responsibility
  • Follow up on all shipped orders over $10,000 in sales per year
  • Create and update customer relationship management (CRM) on a regular basis
  • Develop good understanding of the competitive market, identify and evaluate new market opportunities to increase market share
  • Attend trade shows as required to promote the company\xe2\x80\x99s proprietary products and services, and actively assist in the setting up of the shows
  • Follow up on all sales leads and opportunities within 1 week of scheduled event
  • Respond to inquiries from potential customers accurately and expediently, diligently follow up on proposals, negotiate all programs and pricing, and secure and follow through all initial sales orders to completion
  • Assist in the follow up of customer orders, solve problems by providing technical and product related solutions
  • Set annual sales and gross margin goals, objectives, and review them frequently to ensure their performance meets or exceeds established budgets
  • Continually monitor gross margins and adjust selling prices to reflect changing material costs
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, discuss ongoing projects and contribute new business ideas, new opportunities and initiatives on a continuous basis
  • Send out customer satisfaction surveys
  • Assist marketing in their efforts to promote new products through various promotional channels including company catalogs
  • Provide General Manager with yearly business development plan and monthly activities reports
  • Assist in annual sales and marketing planning process. Update sales reports on a monthly basis and distribute to all external sales representative
  • Support the new product development process with recommendations and updates as well as facilitate progress
  • Assist in the accuracy and timeliness of pricing, printed and electronic, for the territory
  • Assist Accounts Receivable with collection issues as required
  • Promote safe work practices as outlined in the policies
  • Ensures the company\xe2\x80\x99s quality policies and procedures are followed. Support internal quality audit process by facilitating the closure of any outstanding Quality reports
  • Attend and participate in meetings with the General Manager
  • Identify and complete training based on the needs of the position and the Company
  • Submit expense reports within 2 weeks of return from a trip
  • Other assigned duties
Requirements
  • 3 years of sales experience in manufacturing, preferable in the marine industry
  • 3 years of account management experience
  • 3 years of customer relationship management experience
  • Participate in Trade shows
  • Valid passport 30% of travelling to different locations within North America
  • Comfortable travelling to different locations within North America
  • Work out of South Florida (Fort Lauderdale area) is preferred
  • Experience in the marine industry as we are a manufacturer of marine products
  • Experience in computer software/ERP (Knowledge of Visual ERP would be an asset)
  • Experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • University or College Degree
  • Strong problem solving and planning skills
  • Excellent phone etiquette, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Hours
  • Core hours Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
  • Mostly remote or hybrid (depending on location within the US)
