Sales Manager - Permanent - 17781About the OpportunityOur private sector client, Canada's leading and fastest-growing supplier of operational equipment to law enforcement, military, and first responders, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager. This role offers the opportunity to lead a national sales team, develop strategic business plans, and manage relationships with over 40 vendors while driving the company's revenue growth.The Sales Manager will play a critical role in shaping the company's market presence and achieving sales targets by successfully managing the sales team and expanding customer base.Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Achieve growth and sales targets by managing and mentoring the sales team
  • Design and implement strategic business plans to increase market share and revenue
  • Develop and administer annual sales budgets and forecasts for senior leadership approval
  • Recruit, coach, and monitor the performance of territory sales managers
  • Build long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions
  • Identify emerging markets and analyze market shifts to maintain a competitive edge
  • Prepare and present detailed sales reports, revenue forecasts, and expense analyses
  • Monitor and adjust selling prices in response to supply, demand, and market trends
  • Stay current with industry developments, competitors, and economic indicators
About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
  • A post-secondary degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales management experience, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Strong business acumen and expertise in sales within a goods-based industry
  • Proven ability to develop sales strategies, overcome obstacles, and drive results
  • Experience managing a geographically dispersed sales team and multiple vendor relationships
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in forecasting revenue, establishing sales targets, and delivering solutions-oriented approaches
  • Bilingualism in English and French is preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% within Canada to strengthen relationships with team members and vendors
About the Job
  • Location: In-person, Ottawa (Monday to Friday)
  • Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 per year, plus a bonus structure
