Job Description


We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an experienced Sales Manager, Business Development responsible for driving business growth and helping shape the company\xe2\x80\x99s long-term strategic direction. This is a brand new sales leadership role so our ideal candidate needs to be an expert at generating new business opportunities and growing revenue streams by identifying, developing, and implementing strategic initiatives to expand our client base and increase sales. You must have a proven track record of success in building sales pipelines and taking prospects through a defined and thoughtful sales process. As a pioneer in the business development function, you must be self-motivated as you will be an integral part to build the sales funnel to accomplish results and crush our new business sales goals.

This role will work remotely, with the opportunity to visit our co-working spaces for collaboration and team meetings.

What will you do in this role?

  • Design and implement individualized sales goals, targets, and metrics based on organizational objectives and revenue forecasting - responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly tracking; dashboards; and reporting on business unit performance. Taking accountability for team performance by tracking the sales funnel including the quality of all sales performance metrics.
  • Lead and prioritize sales initiatives and ensure investments align with our growth targets, consistently tracking outcomes and identifying risks in plans.
  • Develop, implement, and champion design process improvements to increase productivity, efficiency, and consistency across the team with a focus on the client experience, ROI, and revenue growth
  • Enable the effective development of pipelines across your team strategically focused on value while prioritizing outreach efforts accordingly
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and departments to ensure alignment in achieving organizational and team goals as well as leveraging subject matter experts where necessary to maximize value, credibility, and accuracy with clients and prospects
  • Analyze and report on market trends and client needs to develop effective sales and marketing strategies.
  • Develop business development plans, strategies, and campaigns, with a focus on forecasting sales targets and growth projections
  • Identifying market opportunities through meetings, networking, and other channels and developing strategies for engagement
  • Drive optimal sales performance by engaging team members and creating a positive team culture through expert sales practices, performance management, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Regularly report on various KPIs, making recommendations for modifications of initiatives through effective forecasting.
What do we look for?
  • Post Secondary in Business, Commerce, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, preferably with a minimum of 3 years of experience managing a data-driven, experienced business development team (preferably B2B)
  • Proven and strong experience in business development at the ground level in a fast-paced start-up type environment
  • Experience formulating plans, strategies, and campaigns through research and analyzing client data
  • Experience in performing needs and gap analysis for clients, leveraging a variety of strategies including sourcing, researching, and analyzing corporate mandates or industry/sectoral trends to assess a company\xe2\x80\x99s suitability as a potential client or partner.
  • Experience navigating and executing change management initiatives with direct reports and key stakeholders
  • Proven track record of aligning, defining, and managing sales plans to achieve and exceed sales objectives
  • Experience in the creation and execution of sales goals, targets, and KPIs for a small team
  • Strong experience working in a data and metric-driven organization, with the ability to manipulate and showcase results in a meaningful way
  • Experience with Skills Gap Analysis and systemic training implementation across teams
  • Demonstrated ability to immerse yourself quickly into an unfamiliar industry, understand client pain points, and think critically about how to solve their problems.
  • Proven ability to proactively create and forecast sales plans that will directly impact OSG\xe2\x80\x99s business objectives
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional verbal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to persuade and negotiate at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to the situation and the audience.
  • Exceptional business acumen, with strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to be flexible and adapt your activities as needed to support evolving team priorities in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills under tight deadlines
  • Highly scrappy and capable of working in a fast-paced rapidly changing organization
  • Previous experience with Salesforce, along with other Sales automation tools
