Allocate material, human and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions Select middle managers, directors or other executive staff; delegate the necessary authority to them and create optimum working conditions Plan, develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures Negotiate with suppliers for the provision of materials and supplies Locate, select and procure merchandise for resale Plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization Coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling and distributing materials, equipment, machinery and supplies Assign projects and programs to the purchasing and warehouse departments across the organization
